Quiet!
Quiet is a good thing these days. Nothing to report as far as bad or good. I did pull up a horoscope that said "rough times are at an end". Which I am taking as a sign from all of my prayers asking when it was going to end.
We got new uniforms at work, one word "awful". long sleeves, all black. I'm not looking forward to summer at all being a "sun magnet". They do look nice but long sleeves! good god! The material is not very comfortable either!
Other than that it is pretty quiet on the home front. I can except that!

Thanks
Thank You to everyone!
Needless to say Frank and I have not slept a whole lot. We have been talking alot. Despite what happens with his mother (we are getting different messages) we have made the decision to cancel the Florida trip and go to Vermont to visit her. It has been 7 years since our last trip out to see her, we feel this is the right thing to do. Florida will always be there, we can go another time.
Frank and I feel very strongly about going to see her, and for her to see how her grandchildren has really grown up. We still make a nice vacation of it. We will be passing thru Niagra Falls, we can do something there and there are things in Vermont that we can do, not to mention the scenery there, mountains galour! Michigan is such a flat state, I was truly mesmerized by the mountains and scenery in Vermont. The important thing is that on Easter Sunday we will be with Family, Frank will be with those he loves, the kids will get to know their grandmother better and see things that they don't see here.
Mom (in Vermont) we will see you probably on Easter Sunday. We are looking forward to seeing you.

why?
My husband got the phone call that he certainly did not expect. I was just told that he got a phone call from the daughter of the man that his mother has been living with. The news is not good.
From what Frank told me, the doctor told my MIL 3-4 months maybe a year if she is lucky.
I just want to crawl under a rock and take many drugs to make everything go away!
My mind is running a million miles an hour. So much to think about. Right now, I don't know what to say or do.
*Ann, if you are still reading my blog. I'm so sorry that you are going thru this, wish there was something i could do or say to make you feel better. My thoughts and my prayers are always with you. You are a great mother-in-law, and we LOVE YOU!*
To my readers, I thank you for listening, i appreciate your comments, prayers and support. Sorry that it's been a downer of a blog. But this is my live diary and this is my life at the moment. Thanks for your understanding.

Life
Even tho life seems to be throwing my family and I some not so fair moments I am trying to see a silver lining at the end of a rainbow.
Frank just called his mother and she is home, she has already received 3 chemo treatments and the rest she is going to have as an outpatient, she will also have 3 more chemo treatments and then they are going to start her on radiation also. She is going to know more tomorrow when she see's her doctor, he did a scan of her whole body and will talk about the results. My continued prayers and good thoughts go out to her. This is all I know that is going on at the moment. I want to thank everyone that has given her a thought and a prayer.
I can't imagine the pain that Frank is in, he is trying to be brave. Losing his grandmother and not being able to say goodbye and now this with his mother. I know what it was like when I was faced with maybe losing my mother at one point in time. It was hard to do anything, work, take care of the kids, the house, my thoughts were always about my mother.
Hopefully and God willing she will be alright.

Some updates:
My back is about 95% better than it was. I will always have some pain because of my degenerated discs. I am still wearing a brace when I work until I am fairly certain my back can take it.
Darin actually begged me for a haircut, so I got that taken care of today. I could cut it if he would just let me buzz cut it. But noooooo he is not having that, it would have saved me $15.00.
Amber spent Friday thru Tuesday at her grandparent's house because school was out for a little break.
The kids went to the dentist on Monday, Darin had a couple of his fillings filled. Amber had one tooth pulled and a couple fillings put in...Did i tell you that she had to have 2 teeth pulled but just before her appointment she pulled one of them on her own.
*YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME HERE!*
Amber just came out of her room with her guinea pig in her hands, and it has passed away! It was alive this morning before work, when Frank gave it water and food.
I don't know why we are having such a dark cloud over this family. It's making it hard to keep our chins up with one bad thing after another going on.
I'm going to go and pray...It is all that I can think to do at the moment, other than console my poor daughter's broken heart.

Frank's Mom
We just found out last night that my husband's mother is in the hospital with a blood clot in a lung, her lung colapsed and they are testing for cancer, they are already treating it as if she has cancer because if treated early it might give her a fighting chance. My family is sending prayers and good thoughts out to her.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU HAVE CABIN FEVER, YOU GO FOR A DRIVE!
I ended up seeing my doctor on Friday and received the much needed shot in the hip. By the night time most of the arthritis pain was gone but still had pain coming from the pinched nerve I got from trying to baby my back from the pain that I already had. I had to work on Saturday, but when I woke up I felt that my back needed just one more day to relax, so I called in for another day. I did manage working on Sunday morning after finding my trustee back brace. Thank the Lord for that! I still have a small amount of pain running down my butt to my calf of my left leg. The good news is that I am able to work and walk.
I was sick of bad situations and sick of lying flat on my back. So on Sunday we all hopped into the car and went for a drive. It's been a long time since I have been near the water. Frank, kids, and even our Chihuahua's went for a nice long drive around Lake St. Clair. We ended up at a park where I have done alot of fishing in my days, it's also a very nice boat launch. The kids had a ball playing on the ice.
These dots that you see are Darin, Amber and Frank going out to talk to some ice fishing person. The gentleman said he caught alot of small perch out there. It was a nice day out but the wind hurt. I stayed in the car, i did not want to risk slipping and re injuring my back.
This is set as my new desktop background. It's absolutely beautiful! It's also The 5th picture of the 5th file on my computer. Awhile back I was tagged by T at It Matters To Me, to post and talk about this picture so here it is.
I was standing outside watching the kids play on the ice and looked to the sky to see such a beautiful sunset, the tree, the tall grass, the snow and ice, it captured a wonderful moment!
We left that park and went to another park closer to home and where the coast guard is. Frank and Darin were playing king of the hill. That's the fallen King Darin at the bottom of the hill. lol

Darin in all his glory!

He has risen. :)
Darin walking across a pond.
Darin and Amber in a very well lit, watch-a-call-it (the word is escaping me at the moment)lol it's still pretty none the less. It also had a very pretty bridge but it was to dark to get a descent pic over there.
So this is how we busted out of our house and cabin fever! Can't wait till it thaws and we are fishing and doing anything outside! We have been getting warmer over here in Michigan. we have been in the 40's and from what I here the 50's are around the corner. Can't wait to open windows and air the house out. Can't wait to put the winter coats away and the boots. Don't get me wrong, I do like winter, but I LOVE Spring and Fall!
Thanks for all the well wishes and the comments about Frank's grandmother. It was a big shock for Frank. He LOVED her dearly! The lady lived to be 90 years old, and had many times in the hospital, many surgeries and near the end was pretty much bed ridden.
Thanks again.

Can't seem to catch a break!
The bad luck seems to keep coming.
1. While at school Amber and a few friends were screwing around in the halls and Amber got shoved into a locker and her foot got injured. It bruised and swelled, so I took her to emergency just to get an x-ray. Turned out to be just a bad sprain, but you never know with kids bones.
2. While at the emergency room my husband got a phone call from his Aunt informing him his grandmother passed away. This was on the 4th of Febuary that we got the phone call, his grandmother passed away January 31. Nice! His grandmother meant alot to him, he was upset that he could not say goodbye. He's taking it pretty hard.
3. My back has been really hurting for over a month now, well yesterday the pain was intolerable, but managed to make it thru the day being very careful. Today it's trashed! I can barely walk. I am going to the doctors and hopefully with a shot in the back I will be getting better to work my shifts. I called into work today for the first time in over a year and a half at the hospital. I thinks it's been over 3 years since the last time that i called into work at all!
Sucks, Sucks, and more Sucks!
Life goes on, you move with the punches.
