Wednesday weigh-in

Finally after 2 weeks i lost 1 pound...down 34 pounds.. This is taking alot longer than i thought. I could be doing a bit more to help, but dang it, some days are harder than others. I think i am doing pretty good for someone that eats because they are stressed. With my daughter being so sick, with no apparent reasons that they can find yet. No, nothing to be stressed about!

Amber went to the gastro doctor on Friday and we set up an appt. for testing her gallbladder for this friday. I hope it shows something, the not knowing what is wrong is what is killing both of us. In the meantime the doctor prescribed 2 more medicines....when i got them and read the side effects I about blew a nut!!! One of them says "may cause tardive Dyskinesia" I'm not giving my daughter that and we still don't know what is really wrong with her are you crazy, she does not need twitches on top of everything else...Dumb doctor.....

Anyhoo I am still giving her the prevacid and it helps for the most part the puking is few and far between...but still there, enough to be a nuisance. The doctor told me that after this test, if it doesn't show anything, he is at a loss...Amber mentioned to him that she has started to have headaches and he says she may have a neurological thing called abdominal migraines ...same kind of symtoms, but says it only last like 1 to 3 days....this has been going on for over a month!!

That's pretty much where everything stands at the moment, hoping things start showing the light of day....

I've been on vacation so I was not able to weigh myself this past Wednesday. But today i had to stop by my job and pay on some bills and get some prescriptions so I stopped by my favorite scale. It showed that I had lost 3 pounds since being gone from work! 33 pounds gone!!! 2 more pounds and I hit a major milestone for myself!

Amber went to have the test with the scope down her throat on Wednesday. They did not find anything, no hernia, no ulcer's, but they did some biopsies to see if there is any kind of bug in her stomach. I don't think they are going to find anything. I am still thinking her gallbladder...every syptom fits...even the symptom that attacks happen more at night...she does puke more during the night...seems like more tests and it's going to take even longer!!! Poor girl...I'm just glad it's not as often.

She still is puking, but not really food or drink, more like a thick mucus, still belching like crazy, she still has pain on her right side. This sucks, the not knowing! If this was their kid they would be all over it!! The prevacid ain't doing anything much to help.

In other news I went out with a friend of mine to a couple places i have never been before. I went to Memphis Smoke which had a blues band playing, it's a type of bar and grill ...it was not all that bad. But realized another friend of ours had to be in the neighborhood and decided to drop by his stomping grounds and say hello. We went to Pronto's in Royal Oak, those that don't know it's a male gay bar. It was interesting, but all the guys made us feel comfortable. Had a few drinks with our buddy, we have known him for 30 years!! we were in 5th grade together. And yes we all believed he was gay even back then, but now he is totally open about it! Still love him just the same!! Wished my best friend could have been there to see him, we all hung out during high school together. pity.

Saturday we have plans to go to the Detroit Zoo, hope the weather is as good as they are predicting, it really has put a damper to my vacation.
anyhoo, other than that it's been housework and spending some much needed time to relax.
I bought some yarn to start a new project but I have been so busy that i have not even started it.

We did go to the Detroit Institute of Arts on Wednesday after Amber's procedure. had a wonderful time. I had not been there since i was like 19 years old...I had forgotten how big and wonderful it was! I think my kids were bored! But it was something to do on such a rainy day.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!

I'm having a great vacation so far! Yesterday was the trip to the doctor for Amber, He really thinks it's gerd but he is supposed to scope her throat and stomach on Wednesday. He gave her a better acid reducer called prevacid and gave her a diet that no teenager is going to follow. We will see what happens with that.

After seeing the doctor, it was a gorgeous day out and thought let's go to the zoo...Man, everyone had that idea...so we changed ours and went downtown to the Detroit Historical Museum, I have not been there that I could remember and I had a wonderful time...It was so interesting! Glad that plans did change..

I told Amber that we will do the zoo sometime this week when people are working, it was too crazy!! Plus we have plans to go and watch the new "Clash of the Titans" movie and maybe visit the Detroit Institute of Arts. Loving my vacation!!!

wednesday weigh-in

nothing gained and nothing lost...30 pounds still....I guess i should be thankful...the past couple weeks with amber has stressed me, which is one of my triggers...I have just been snacking on healthier things...

It's done!

In just under a month I finally finished Amber's afghan!!! She loves it!!! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out myself!! Now Darin says he wants one!!! Looks like I am going to be a busy beaver!

Update on Amber.

Had amber in e.r. again last night...hoping for some miracle of finding out what is wrong with her...they did an ultrasound of her gallbladder, spline, liver, kidneys and found nothing! and we got a maybe it's gastritis. Just maybe I am going to go insane!! This has been horrible for Amber the last 2 weeks...and the worst thing is she has one more week before we can see a gastro doctor. Poor kid...I cry for her, I am losing sleep because I am worried and if I do get some sleep I have nightmares!
I hope she gets some relief soon!

On another note...I am almost finished with her afghan :)

Wednesday weigh-iin

Not a good week only 1 pound! But that equals 30 pounds gone!!! I know why only 1 pound because of girlie week, but i will take it...next week will be a whole other story.

Anyhoo check out what my mother made for me!!!! Who knew that when my mom volunteered to teach me to crochet that she would jump back into it with a vengeance. She is kicking out crochet projects left and right, If you want to see what she's made go and visit her site. I saw this shawl on a free pattern at JoAnn's and really like it, mom suprised me with it just the other day..

Meanwhile I am still working on my daughters afghan...Not my fault, I had to wait a couple days for some more yarn. I did manage to make another hat for a neighbor's grandson and I totally forgot to take a picture of it. I will get one. I also made a hat for my Aunt that turned out wonderful in a puff stitch pattern...I can't believe that i didn't get a pic of that either...I was kinda proud of that hat. Yeh, I know I suck!! Anyways I have one more skein of the color amber picked out and then border it with some dark blue and her afghan will be finished!!! I am kinda proud of this project, can't wait to show you all when I am done!

Amber

I got a call while at work, it was Amber's school. The lady on the phone said "Amber is really sick, she would like to go home". When Amber got home she called me to say that she got really dizzy and was kinda double visioned. I thought right away dehydration. Called my doctor and he told me to send her to a e.r. with a pediatrics in it. I left work, took her to the e.r. and now they think she has gerd and gave her some zantak and was told that if she is still throwing up to set up an appointment to see a gastro doctor. The not knowing is killing me. How did she all of a sudden get so sick? I hope that she will be ok soon.

WEDNESDAY WEIGH-IN

FINALLY after 2 weeks of nothing changed....I lost 3 pounds! 29 pounds gone!! go me!!

I took the bike for a descent bike ride....as much as I could stand yesterday and then went a little bit further. Today I did not go as far because the legs are hurting something awful and my butt feels like i have had anal...lol But I did about half of what i did yesterday so my body will get used to it.

Amber is in bad shape....6 straight days of vomiting everything that enters her mouth. I will give it until Friday and call her doctor and see what he wants me to do. You would never know that she was sick until she vomits!! Doctors are saying it's a stomach flu...but no fever, no nothing but vomiting! She did have diarrhea for a bit, but that has now stopped. I was checking out stomach flu on the internet and says that it could last 1-10 days...I have never in my life been sick with the flu for that long...Poor girl....I hope Frank and I don't get it!!! I will probably get it when i have my vacation...that would suck!!!

anyhoo, have a great week and if you got a chance send my daughter some healing prayers. I'm worried!

Amber's close call.

Amber had pain on her right lower side of her belly, she was complaining about it for about 5 days. Everyone was thinking she may have appendicitis. I took her to an urgent care facility thinking i will save some money. They tested her for bladder infection or uti's but came up negative. The doctor told me to take her to emergency because it could be her appendix. Went to emergency and about 6 hours later after all the tests were done, we found out everything is fine...She has some small cysts on her ovaries and maybe one popped and causing her some pain...She should be fine in a few more days.. We got home a little after midnight...I had worked 6:30 till 3 and was back at my work from 6pm untill midnight...I was dead by the time i got home.

Wednesday weigh-in

Wednesday weigh-in....nothing gained and nothing lost...it's a sad, sad week!!! I think i have hit a platoe(sp?) But on another note..starting Friday I will probably be bike riding for exercise! I told hubby to pull it out of the garage and pump up the tires...Amber and I are gonna ride! Hopefully the weather won't get crazy!

I'm working on a huge granny square afghan for my daughter Amber....She picked this color...it's a mixture of blue's and green's making a very interesting color blend...she likes it and so do I!

Wednesday weigh-in

Only 1 pound this week, total 26 pounds. I will take it, I know I was not perfect this week, I will do better hopefully by next Wednesday.

I finished this last week

Well this was my very first attempt at a baby blanket... I like it alot..only i will know where my mistakes are. It is very soft to the touch, I can't wait to give this to her at her baby shower. I hope she likes it.... What do you all think?

I started on my daughter's afghan last night...We went shopping on Sunday for the yarn, she picked a yarn mix with blues and greens...I chose to make a huge granny square, she says she is liking the pattern so far and I am too! I'll post some pics as soon as it gets a bit bigger.

I DIDN'T FORGET

I didn't forget weigh-in Wednesday...I just did not work yesterday and i have no scale at home. I weighed myself this morning and it showed 2 more pounds down....that's 25 pounds down now...It's not been easy at all! In fact i was panicking for a few days because of the weight gain you get while on your cycle...(TMI?) But all is good now, as long as it's at least 1 pound from the previous week I am happy.

I'm going to try and make that lady at the top of my blog run all the way across those hearts...At least give it my best effort anyway. Here's to hoping!

This is what I have been working on so intently, I love how it's looking! It's a thin baby blanket but since the baby is coming in late August early Semptember it will do.

WEDNESDAY WEIGH-IN

This week showed another 3 pound loss....Down 23 pounds in total!!!! It gets easier every week...but I won't say that I haven't been tempted in many ways...My stress level is at a high right now and that is one of my triggers, stress and boredom...really been putting all of that energy into my crocheting..working on my very first baby blanket and I am loving how it is coming out. My only wish is that it was thicker yarn, I did not think about that, I was just thinking I want really soft yarn for a baby. It's still going to be nice and the baby is going to be born in September.
