Mom's spot!

When I went to the cemetary, this was the spot that I "felt" was perfect, i'm standing on the exact spot where she is burried
..In the middle of the area stands these 3 huge monuments, all with pictures of christ and one says "Christ arose" one says "Christ died" and one says "Christ Lived" She is buried between 2 trees and she gets the afternoon shade always...
Also in this area, all four corners have beautiful monuments! I think it's perfect..

Every single tree in this cemetary will always be there....If one dies they replace it with another tree. I think that is awesome!

It's called Resurrection Cemetary on Clinton River Rd. and Romeo Plank ...

In Loving Memory of my mother Paula!

One of mom's favorite pics...Just after her triple bypass!

It's with the saddest of hearts that I have to say that my mother Pauline M. Bagnasco passed away on July 2, 2011.

On June 22nd, she woke up like any other day and was drinking her coffee in her favorite spot on her couch while my father was looking for something in her bedroom in just the next room. My father said that he heard her say something but did not make it out. He came out asking her what she said and saw her laying on the couch and went to her and shook her to see if she fell back to sleep, with no response he jumped into action with CPR and dialing 911, but when EMS arrived she already had a weak pulse and shocked her 2 times to get her heart started. Yes she was clinically dead on arrival.

At the hospital we were informed it was critical and the next 24 hours would tell us more. About 2 days into it we found out that it was a massive heart attack followed by a massive stroke that caused anoxic brain injury and that she was not clinically brain dead but had some reflux actions still. The massive stroke caused her to seizure in the worst way... at first it was small twitching. After hearing from the doctors that she was pretty much just a body and would never be able to do anything as far as quality of life we decided to take her off the ventalator and if God wanted her to let her pass in peace. The only other decision was to make her live the rest of her life on a trach tube in her neck where she would eventually die from some kind of infection.

Her seizures got worse and took more and more drugs to control her body. We could not let her suffer like that. We took the tube out on June 30th and hoped for the best, but knowing that there was not much of a chance. Her body slowly shut down and on July 2nd, 2011 at about 8:05 am. She took her last breath.

I was there the entire time she was hospitalized, I only went home to shower and grab a bite. I was woken at 7 am by her bed side by the nurse to tell me her heart rate changed and that she felt it would be soon. She was right. :(

Two days before her death my father asked me to do some leg work for the funeral "just in case" I went to a cemetary that she had mentioned once to me. And when I got there I was greeted by a gentleman who was holding a paper stating that my mother had called there 5 times since 2009 for information on plots. I was stunned! No one knew she had even thought of it! I told him if thats not an omen that I am in the right place i don't know what is. We drove around the cemetary and my eyes were pulled to an area, and when we stopped there i "felt" the right spot! It's beautiful! I will post pics soon as things settle down.

After her passing I went clothes shopping for her and found the most beautiful baby blue pant suit that was just perfect for her. We saw her for visitation yesterday and she was gorgeous! We have visitation again tonight and tomorrow Thursday the 7th we bury her graveside at the most beautiful spot in the cemetary. We are having her luncheon at the "Gazebo" which i know she loved that place.

I will write more when I can. But I think she would be proud of what i have done for her. I will forever miss her! I LOVE HER WITH ALL OF MY HEART!

Till we see each other again.

WOW

Alot has happened. Not sure where to start. I'll start with the most important thing in my life and that's my mother.

Mom has been having many tests and found out that an artery in her neck was getting blocked again so they were talking surgery, but before they could do that they sent her for some tests to check out her heart for the surgery. They did the usual stress test and the ekg showed that there was some abnormalities. Well then that brings her to the next step of a cardiac catherization and that showed many blockages so she was rushed to another hospital to receive stents, but when they went in the second time they said that they were so blocked that they could not do it. So their next course of action was to perform open heart surgery, they were talking anywhere from a triple bypass to maybe doing a 5 bypass. She had the catherization last Thursday and had her surgery this Tuesday, she had to wait because she has been on blood thinners for awhile now. I'm happy to say that she is doing very well right now. She had so many wires and tubes everywhere that would scare anyone! As of today she has nothing but 2 IV's on her that are not even connected to anything. She isn't even on oxygen anymore. I am so proud of her, she has been thru so much. Can you believe that she will still have to go back and do the surgery on her neck?! She is a trooper!

On May 1st my mom and dad celebrated their 41st anniversary in the hospital. The nurse was so nice to get them some nice cupcakes for the occasion. Today was my mother's birthday she turned 62 years old today! I took up a small birthday cake and we sang Happy Birthday and gave her one of the funniest cards. Tomorrow is mother's day and I will bring up the nice hanging plant I got her and a pretty card to chear her up.

I got really sad news on Wednesday. My uncle norman passed away. He had been in and out of my hospital and this time it was not good....He had bleeding ulcers, they were treating him for that and then they sent him to a nursing home where he ended up getting the worse bed sore you ever wanna see that lead to a staff infection and ended up with MRSA, by the time the nursing home sent him back to our hospital it was too late, the MRSA had taken it's toll on his body. All I can say is that he isn't suffering anymore. He has been thru alot himself. So tommorrow on mother's day I will be going to my uncle's wake. Sad!

I'm just so emotionally exhausted! I'm worried, scared, nervous, mourning, sad and also excited about my trip on the 25th.

I still plan on going on my trip as long as my mother continues to do well!!!! My friends and I plan on going to the St. Louis zoo, the arch, and the budweiser brewery. I also got surprised with tickets to a broadway musical called "Jersey Boys" from my Bestie Gary. It's the story of Frankie Valli! I am way excited!! Never been to a musical before!!! And the last time I even went to a play was back in the 6th grade about a million years ago...lol

Darin is waiting on his pictured driver's license to come into the mail. He did pretty well on his driver's test. The parking gave him a small amount of trouble but that's for anyone! But on the road he did me proud! Amber starts driver's ed on Monday....Lord help us all! lol I can't believe how old they are, they are making me feel old!! Many milestones conquered and many more to come. Darin will be graduating next year...ug! Time flies!

Oh Frank has been working with a temp service, they sent him to like 4 different shops, they would just work him for awhile and then run out of work. Well for the last 3 weeks he has been working for a shop and it looks like they really like him. They said keep coming, hopefully he can get his 90 days and get hired in. It would take alot of pressure off of me!!! Just the fact that they told him to keep coming relaxes me a little bit. Hopefully things will continue to look better.

Well I hope all you Mother's out there have a great day tomorrow!!!

Hello peeps

Well old age has just set in. lol I now have to have glasses for the first time in my life!! Here's me out by the water with my son Darin, yep those are my glasses. They are transition so they were kinda nice to be wearing in the sun. I went for a check up on my eyes just for the heck of it and found out that I have 40/20 vision...that i am far sighted and that i have diabetic retinopothy. Everyone got new specs, Amber insisted on getting contacts this year and she is doing very well with them. I can tell you that next year I will be doing contacts! I don't like glasses!

Anywho today I set the date for a major stepping stone for my son. On April 23rd he will be taking his driving test for his driver's license. He should do fine, becuz he does not make me nervous in the least. I'm scared of my husbands driving more than my 16 year old son's. lol

Amber is going to be starting driver's training in May. They are growing up too fast!!!

Also starting May 22nd I am officially on a 2 week vacation I will be off till June 4th! What am i gonna do for that long...well for 3 days i will be preparing for my trip to Alton, Illinois to visit with one of my best friends! I will be about 15 minutes from St. Louis. I will spend the 25th till the 30 with my 2 best friends in the world, no kids, no husband, just pure great fun!!!

So I guess i will have lots to talk about when i get back from my trip!! I am so excited...38 days till i'm on vacation and 41 days till i am having the most fun!

And i made sure that i was going to have a small vacation from my vacation...I will have a few days to unwind before hitting that grindstone again!!

take care all, I am still in and out of here and I read your blogs as much as possible...but ya gotta admit facebook is the greatest thing!! lol

Party time!

Me and my bestie!!!!! I bought her a little tiara that says Happy 40th Birthday on it with some mardi graw beads that say 40 on them.... And 2 huge balloons.

This is my best friend of 30 years! I love her to death!! It was her 40th birthday finally on the 16th, of course i had to make a special trip up north to see and be with her on such a traumatic time...lol I had so much fun, and let it be known that Barb finally drank so much she puked...it was a monumental moment! She was happy about it, she said "I finally feel normal"...lol whatever!

On Wednesday I weighed myself not thinking that anything was going to change and FINALLY I dropped another pound...for a little while i was up a pound or two then back down but never getting under the last weight....but finally i made progress...it gave me some incentive...hoping for this Wednesday to be the same..
See ya after Christmas, Hope you all have a great one!!!

Finally get to show it off

I started this project earlier this year. Could not show it off because it was intended to give to a friend that lives in Illinois and he reads my blog. But now that it is sent and he has it and Loves it by the way, I can finally show you all! Took me about 4 months to make, I am pretty proud of it. I know where I could have done better and in the future know that i could do better but for the most part for a beginner crocheter, i'm thinking not bad. Right now I am working on another blanket for my best friend in the whole wide world using a Larksfoot pattern, I am loving the design, it's in her favorite colors wine and navy blue. Can't wait to show you all that one.

I also made a baby blanket to a friend at work that just had a baby but totally forgot to take a picture of it. I was in a hurry since she was not supposed to have the baby till end of December or beginning of January and decided to have it in the middle of November. I'm just glad the baby is doing so well, she came out of the hospital the day before Thanksgiving, weeks before the doctors thought she was gonna. Ah the power of prayer!

Anyhoo, have a great holiday people if i don't get on here till then :)

Halloween fun

The kids love doing this every year! I know i did when I was younger, now not so much. Don't like the pumpkin guts on my hands anymore...lol
What's been happening? Well, Frank is still looking for a job, I really don't think there is much luck until after the holidays. My kids are going to get something for Christmas, I just cashed in 70 of my vacation hours to make something happen for them. I had been stressing over it for awhile now. Still gives me 2 weeks of vacation time left.
Anywho, I wish there was more to report. It's just been bad and it makes me not want to talk to anyone lately.

Finally finished!

It took me months but I finished it!!! So glad that i am... I'm never making another single crochet blanket in my life!!! It took me forever! But he is happy with it and I am happy I am done!

AMBER'S HOMECOMING 2010

On Saturday I helped Amber to get ready for homecoming...she was beautiful!!! He boyfriend looked very handsome as well...Here are some of my favorite pics of the night...this first one i had blown up to 5x7's one for me and one for her and one for him... It is the best pic all night.

Her shoes were a huge hit!! The heels are 4 glass balls that made up her heel. She is such a beautiful girl!

I got great deals on her outfit...I got 2 dresses and they only cost me $29.15 . Deb's had a clearance rack labeled buy one get one half off... Thank god she found 2 that she loved! The shoes i got for $3.00 at a salvation army, never been worn! I got lucky!!!

The other dress I bought for her she wore for our family portraits we had done on Friday. I finally put my son in a suit! He looked so grown up!!!

This is him without the tie on and not clean shaven...just wanted to see him in it.. He doesn't like going to dances...I hope that he will find a girlfriend and change his mind.
I had to reboot my computer last night because for some reason it would not go on the internet for anything all day yesterday...Thank god it worked because if it didn't i would not know what else i could have done.. Everything seems to working fine, just a pain to put everything back onto the computer.
Take care everyone...

R.I.P. FRANKS MOM

The Skinny

Amber went to homecoming with her boyfriend Khalil, she enjoyed herself, she is going to her homecoming at her school with him on the 23rd.

Last month sucked with everything that happened. And at first this month was not so great either!! Last Monday my son woke me up telling me that his left side was killing him and he started vomiting, turned white as a ghost and was sweating so bad that it was falling off his forehead like rain....He scared me to death!! Turned out to be his first kidney stone! He passed it shortly after getting home from the E.R. It was so small to be causing so much pain. We took it in to get analized...I am calling in the morning to see if there is any results yet..

This was Darin's first IV ever!!! It scared him to death! But he wanted anything to stop the pain!
Just trying to get thru all of this...Still hoping Frank finds a job...He had an interview last Thursday i was hoping to hear something today, but nope. He has and interview tomorrow and someone else called him for and interview that he has to call back. Hoping something works out. I'm getting tired of working all the time!!
Anyhoo...have a great week!

so much has happened!

Just had to put a pic of my now 16 year old son!
I'm so tired from working a zillion hours! and on this day I got up early and made breakfast, worked, thru a birthday party, went to church and then took my daughter and her boyfriend to the movies.. ack!

Some progress is being made on my weight loss...down 46 pounds...although I don't think this week is going to show any progress...I am so stressed!

Amber turned 15 on the 26th of this month...she is growing up so fast!!

I made her birthday cake, she wanted a banana cake, I did the best that i could!

A tree fell in my backyard. thanking god that the only real damage was done to a fence!

The fence is under there somewhere!

I became a grandma for a school project. She named him Jaden Treyvon Barney...It was a definite learning experience for her. But the dang thing was so loud it woke me 6 times in one night...Thank God that's over with.

The 17th was hubby and I's wedding anniversary. Sixteen years of wedded bliss. We all went to the cider mill and walked around some paths and took some really nice pics.

I love this pic, I'm gonna get it blown up!

and this one of my son is a definite keeper!

I tried to play professional camera woman.

So much has gone on. None of it really good.
Hubby is still out of work.
Amber had another reaction to another medicine.
Still don't know what is going on with her.
The hot water tank stopped working again and when it was supposed to be fixed a tree fell in my backyard, and the hot water tank did not get fixed that day.
My mom went into the hospital again with another stroke. This one almost blinded her. She was blind for a few hours! She is ok right now, but she will have another surgery, apparently she has a 80% blockage in her neck.
So the month of September has really sucked!!!!! Hopefully October will get better.
